Job Description:

Upper Macungie Township is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Planning & Zoning Administrative Specialist. This position provides administrative, project, and staff support to the Community Development department. Responsibilities include, but not limited to a variety of duties such as, customer service, maintaining Township Records, assisting the developers and applicants through the Subdivision, Land Development, Zoning, Permitting, and Code Appeal Process; recording of meeting minutes, reporting, scheduling, advertisement of public notices, and answering incoming phone calls.  The qualified applicant will work closely with the Director of Community Development and will coordinate and interact with other Township departments and officials as well as with the Township’s Zoning Hearing Board and Planning Commission.

This position is full-time. Salary range: $18-$25. Pay rate will commensurate with education, skills, and relevant experience. Job Requirements:

Must have excellent customer service, organizational, problem solving, and computer skills (Word, OneNote, Excel, etc.) with a minimum two (2) years’ clerical experience; general knowledge or previous experience with municipal government preferred. The successful candidate must submit to a background check and pre-employment screening.
